Visit the Redpath Museum.
McGill University campus
Choose one particular cultural object in the Redpath Museum collection to draw.
1. Draw detailed sketches of the object noting any designs and motifs that may be present. (at least 2 to 3 drawings)
2. From your drawings, do a web search to find similar motifs and their purpose in our culture. (In the case of a natural object, determine its history and why, you think, that it is on display)
3. Bring your drawings to class next week. Write out a short report (1/2 a page) and submit it next week.
