Visit to Redpath Museum

Assignment One:
Choose one particular cultural object in the Redpath Museum
collection to draw.
1. Draw detailed sketches of the object noting any designs and motifs that may
be present. (at least 2 to 3 drawings)
2. From your drawings, do a web search to find similar motifs and their purpose
in our culture. (In the case of a natural object, determine its history and
why, you think, that it is on display)
3. Bring your drawings to class next week. Write out a short report (1/2 a page)
and submit it next week.
