On a second version of the design, reverse the values and textures.

Working on Project 1 in class. Bring in resources for your book.

Planning the Book: The idea at this stage is to take the images that you assembled in your idea chart back to words. Look at your idea chart images and write down the words that the pictures make you think about. The pictures might also remind you of a poem you might have read or words that you might have seen somewhere. Write all of this down and reread the words. What kind of images do they evoke?

Prepare to make your book: The next step is to try to find images that match your text. You can also set up a story board where you can tell your story in formal, narrative or cinematic style. Once this is done, images can be drawn, appropriated from various sources, or you can use your camera to actually tell your story. At this stage you should be organizing all of this into a (minimum) four page book. For next week, should have decided on the format and the paper (Ingres drawing paper is nice) for your book (it is easier if you stick to folio, quatro or octavo) and the materials to make it.

Homework: Sketchbook.
