Project 2
Technology is an extension of the human body.

“ Ontological exploration is centred on physicality. The body and with
it, aesthetics, is disruptive and transgressing of organised social systems.
As such, art has
the capacity to challenge order, reason and collective ideals.”
One of the first technologies in modern artmaking was perspective. The
method of perspective was invented in Florence at the beginning of
the 15th century,
probably by Filippo Brunelleschi. It was written up by Leon Battista Alberti
in 1435-36 with the simplified version, described by Piero della Francesca
around 1480.
Form a group of two to three students to create an exposition on perspective,
its implications to you as art students and a comparison of perspective
with the communications technologies in artmaking.
Propose a final project to be undertaken by your small group (2-3 individuals).
Submit a written proposal in one week. The project is to take the form
of a book , a web page or an animation. There should be text and a
transformation of found
images. The project should reflect your place in our post industrial
society of computers and communications. It should exhibit an understanding
of
contemporary views on illusionary space.
